Second market up in a weekend, printing Euros by Monday

millionkm.de is the DACH sister of millionkm.com. Same product line: Marriott Platinum, Hilton Diamond, Hyatt Globalist, Lufthansa Senator. Different market. Different intent. Different SEO game.

The temptation was to just point WPML at millionkm.com and machine-translate. That doesn't work — German search intent is not English translated. Terms like "senator status kaufen" or "platinum ohne 50 nächte" are their own market with their own copy, their own price sensitivity, their own compliance quirks.

Operator's own write-up (German): millionkm.de/hinter-den-kulissen

What "clone in a weekend" actually meant

  • New theme, not a copy. Iterated from v1 to v2.0.7 for DACH-specific layout, Trustpilot integration, DE-first CTA copy.
  • DACH-only intent research. Keyword coverage rebuilt from scratch for German shoppers — not translated from EN. Top-earning term today ("senator status kaufen") has no direct English analog.
  • Full DE SERP metadata. AIOSEO description written per product/article, in German, not machine-translated.
  • DE-only content cadence. One new German article/day, one short-form DE video/day across YouTube Shorts + Instagram Reels + TikTok.

4% CTR on a young content site is roughly double the industry average (~1-2%). That's what you get when the German copy is written for German intent, not translated from English.

Why the sister-site was cheap the second time

Once AgentValet is running the parent store, spinning up a second market is a weekend exercise, not a $30,000 international expansion budget. Same WooCommerce architecture, same AIOSEO conventions, same publisher cron. The only new work is the market-specific research and the theme polish. That's exactly what an AI is good at — the boring 90% of the second site is the same as the first.

Payroll replaced (portfolio-blended): ~$4,350/mo

A dedicated DACH-market e-commerce team — developer, DE content specialist, DE customer support — would run ~$5,000/mo on top of the EN team. Blended into the portfolio operating cost of ~$650/mo, the marginal cost of the second market is effectively zero.

Same pattern applies to any localised e-commerce expansion — theme fork + intent-native content + shared operator brain.
