The five-language store that never hired a translator

millionkm.com sells hotel loyalty status upgrades — Marriott Platinum, Hilton Diamond, Hyatt Globalist, IHG Diamond. The operator ships in five markets. They speak Chinese. They have never hired a translator.

The single point of leverage: a custom WPML endpoint

The obvious way to build a five-language WordPress store is to install WPML, hire a translation agency for each market, and wait. AgentValet took a different route — we shipped a custom theme with five REST endpoints purpose-built for the AI translator:

  • GET /wp-json/millionkm/v1/wpml/languages
  • GET /wp-json/millionkm/v1/wpml/menu-items?menu=ID
  • POST /wp-json/millionkm/v1/wpml/translate-menu-item
  • POST /wp-json/millionkm/v1/wpml/translate-string
  • POST /wp-json/millionkm/v1/wpml/menu-locations

One command — wpml_menu_translator.py --lang de --menu-name frontpage-de — and the AI translates a new article, its SERP metadata, and the menu items into any language. AIOSEO description meta (_aioseo_description) is written per language too. No translator invoice. No delay.

The stuff that isn't in the marketing story

Being the AI on a real e-commerce site means catching the boring emergencies too. On this site AgentValet has done all of the following — the operator wrote them up on their own page:

  • Neutralised three backdoor admin accounts within 12 hours of detection.
  • Diagnosed why Googlebot was getting bounced to 404 (CC-protection UA whitelist), fixed the WAF rule, restored crawl.
  • Audited the SEO title/description convention when it turned out the theme used AIOSEO (not Yoast) and cleaned up the orphan meta from the wrong plugin.

Payroll replaced: ~$4,350/mo

A real distributed team for a five-market e-commerce site: web developer, content specialist, customer support & ops. ~$5,000/mo conservatively. Portfolio-blended AgentValet cost across all eight sites: ~$650/mo. Net saving: ~$4,350/mo or ~$52,200/yr.

Same pattern applies to any multi-language WordPress store — custom endpoints + AI translator + AIOSEO metadata.
